One way that the city of Valparaiso supports the health of its citizens is by offering plenty of community events that focus on coming together and being active. While plenty of communities support events focused on wining and dining, Valpo also focuses on an active lifestyle. One of the best ways they do this is by offering fun runs, 5Ks and other races throughout the year to get Valpo residents on their feet and even raise money for a great cause.
Here we will look at some of the upcoming races and events this September in Valparaiso.
This year the new Hub City courses are expected to be faster than ever. The race includes:
• Finishers Medal for all participants – including 5K
• Tech shirts to all participants registered by September 1st.
• Chip start timed race.

• USATF certified half-marathon distance pending. (5K and 20 mile not certified)

What’s even better is, if you bring 10 or more racers, you will earn a private planetarium show on a date you choose. In addition to the 5K race, there is a Rocket Launch, paper airplane competition, costume contest, DJ, laser light show and even a visit from some of your favorite “Star Wars” characters.
